Spencer George, Intern

In the final year of his Marriage and Family Therapy master’s program, Spencer (he/him) is excited to provide support to individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the challenges that life throws their way. He brings a calm and compassionate energy, as well as a solid base of

knowledge in areas ranging from queer theory to religious trauma. Spencer primarily utilizes a Narrative Therapy approach, while also integrating concepts from Emotion Focused Therapy
(EFT) and the Gottmann Method for couples. Additionally, he strongly believes that any therapeutic approach is at its best only when it incorporates the somatic, embodied elements of physiological regulation. Spencer holds a special interest in working with people who are working to explore and understand an LGBTQIA+ identity; no matter whether they came out young, are discovering this part of themselves later in life, or are partnered with someone who is exploring their gender or sexual identity. He sees Colorado clients in-person in Greeley, and through telehealth.
Spencer earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and primarily worked as a chef before pursuing a career in counseling. Apart from his professional and school life, Spencer is an avid photographer and craftsman who enjoys making things from steel, leather, and wood. He grew up on a ranch in the Colorado high-country and has a deep love for the outdoors and going on adventures with his two Bernese Mountain Dogs.
