Emily Elizabeth, Intern
Emily (she/her) is a compassionate Master of Social Work student from Simmons School
of Social Work. She is knowledgeable of many challenges including, but not limited to,
imbalanced family dynamics, grief and loss, and unprocessed trauma. She emphasizes a
strengths-based approach in her work with children and families, emphasizing that everybody
has something to bring to the table. Her long-term experience as an end-of-life caregiver offers
an empathetic lens for clients processing grief and loss, whether it be a result of a death, illness,
or lost connection. As a long-time yoga instructor, she celebrates the mind-body connection,
while holding space for those who struggle with somatic symptoms of trauma.
You will find that Emily incorporates mindfulness, breathwork, and offers plenty of visualization techniques to her clients. She is a client-centered practitioner and is excited to expand upon her toolkit to meet the therapeutic needs of a diverse set of clients. Emily understands the importance of displaying cultural humility and curiosity specific to traditions, beliefs, and spirituality. She’s accepting a wide variety of clients including children, adolescents, families, adults, and older adults. In
addition to identifying strengths and coping skills during difficult times, Emily believes in the
immense opportunity for growth during life’s most pivotal moments. She’s always present to
engage and witness experiences of sadness, strain, laughter, and love with her clients.
