Bee Bodiker, Intern
Bee (they/she) is passionate about supporting children and adolescents while exploring the connection between mental health, behavior, and overall well-being. With over two years of experience as a mental health crisis counselor, Bee has worked with individuals affected by trauma, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and substance use concerns.
Bee uses a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to counseling, ensuring a calm, supportive, and validating environment where people feel heard and understood. They use strengths-based interventions to help clients build confidence, resilience, and self-acceptance. Additionally, Bee incorporates mindfulness practices to promote self-awareness and emotional regulation, alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies to help young individuals navigate life's challenges and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Bee believes that all behaviors are forms of communication and emphasizes the importance of learning effective communication skills to reduce what are often labeled as “bad” behaviors.
Bee particularly enjoys supporting children and adolescents who are navigating trauma, identity development, emotional growth, early life transitions, and the unique challenges of growing up. They are comfortable working with adolescents who experience self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and substance abuse. Bee also has an interest in supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, including those exploring gender identity, sexual orientation, or experiencing gender dysphoria.
Bee earned a Bachelor's degree in Special Education (K–12) from the University of Northern Colorado and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of Phoenix. They are CPR certified and certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) with a hands-off focus.
Outside of counseling, Bee enjoys crocheting, sewing, playing video games, watching movies or videos, spending time with their significant other and pets, and listening to music.
